Bruce could see that she was starting to lose patience with him. It was slightly unnerving, since Selina was generally so detached. He began to pace again.
“I cannot sit back and watch as they ransack another city. I have been given this intel for a reason. Gordan obviously thinks I can do it. So why don’t you? Why don’t you help me, since you’re so concerned. Two is better than one, yes?”
Selina raised an eyebrow as he began to pace back and forth.
“You can,” she said plainly. “You just don’t want to. Gordon knows this is far beyond the police. He’s practically useless in this situation.”
Selina leaned against a cargo container and watched him carefully.
“You can’t tame a cat,” she told him. “They do what they want and I’m far better off not sticking my nose where it shouldn’t be and so are you.”
“Don’t you have some kind of hero league you can call?” she asked, now moving towards him. “A superhero crisis hotline?”
“Who do you think would come? I’m better off going at it alone. They have lives. Lives that I am not willing to put in jepordy because you don’t think I can handle the Joker and his buffoons. Buffoons that I have dealt with time and time again.”
He looked into her eyes. “Selina, please. Don’t worry about me.” Bruce climbed aboard the motorcycle and sped off, without looking back. He hated to leave her there. He knew she could make it back, it wasn’t that. The emotions were seeping into his judgement.
“I’m sorry.” He said into the wind.

“Yes.” He answered bluntly. “If I don’t, who will? They cannot be allowed to continue.” Bruce began to pace. Already, his mind was calculating attacks, surveillance, weapons. “Did you really expect me to just ignore this information? If anything, you told me because you want me to do something.”
He stopped and turned to face Selina. “I do not like how untrusting of my skills you are. I am beyond capable of taking care of myself.”
Selina narrowed her eyes at him as she listened to his response. She often thought of herself as fairly patient with other people, but with Bruce, she was starting to lose that virtue.
“You’re going to get yourself killed out there,” she told him. “I’m not doubting your abilities, Bruce, but you can’t take on a whole army of people who want you dead.”
“I only told you myself because I knew you’d rush out there without hesitation if it were anybody else,” there was a pause and then she continued. “Let this one go.”
